1. Terms of Use
1.1. What TRI NORTHWEST is
TRI NORTHWEST is an independent triathlon hub for the Pacific Northwest. The site aggregates and presents information about races, clubs, and related resources in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, British Columbia, and nearby regions. We're not the official site for any specific race, club, or organization unless explicitly stated.
1.2. Your use of the site
By using this site, you agree to use it only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm the site, other users, or any third parties. You agree not to attempt to break, scrape in an abusive way, or reverse-engineer the site, and not to use the data here for spam or other abusive behavior.
1.3. Data accuracy and changes
We do our best to keep event and club information current, but race dates, locations, formats, cutoff times, prices, and policies change regularly. We cannot guarantee that everything you see on TRI NORTHWEST is complete, accurate, or up to date.
You should always confirm details directly with the official race organizer or club before registering, traveling, or making training decisions.
1.4. Intellectual property
The TRI NORTHWEST name, logo, site design, and original content (including copy, layouts, and custom UI components) are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may link to the site and share links, but you may not copy large portions of content, mirror the site, or present it as your own project without permission.
Race names and logos, club logos, and other marks referenced on this site are trademarks of their respective owners. Their appearance here is for identification and informational purposes only. If you represent an event or organization and want your logo or information updated or removed, contact us and we'll work with you.
1.5. User submissions and updates
If you email us corrections, new events, or club information, you're giving us permission to use, edit, and publish that information on TRI NORTHWEST and related materials (for example, maps, lists, or spotlights), with the understanding that we'll use it solely for running and improving the site.
2. Disclaimer
2.1. No guarantees
TRI NORTHWEST is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no guarantees about availability, uptime, or that the site will be error-free.
We are not responsible for race cancellations, schedule changes, sold-out events, lost registration fees, travel costs, or any other losses resulting from relying on information found on this site.
2.2. Training, health, and performance
Any training insights, event spotlights, or commentary on TRI NORTHWEST are general in nature and are not medical advice, coaching advice, or individualized recommendations. Always consult with a qualified coach or healthcare professional before starting or changing a training plan, especially for higher-risk events like triathlons.
2.3. Third-party links
We link out to race organizers, registration platforms, timing/results providers, clubs, social media pages, and news sources. These are third-party sites with their own terms and privacy policies. We don't control them and we're not responsible for their content, policies, or security.
3. Privacy
3.1. What we collect
TRI NORTHWEST is intentionally lightweight. We don't run user accounts and we don't sell personal data. However, like most websites, some technical and usage information is collected automatically when you visit the site. This may include:
- IP address and general region
- Browser type, device type, and basic technical details
- Pages visited, time on page, and referrer (if any)
This information is used to keep the site running, debug issues, and understand which pages are actually useful.
3.2. Analytics and logs
Server logs and optional analytics tools may store anonymized or aggregated usage data. We use this data to understand traffic patterns and improve the site. We do not use behavioral advertising or ad-retargeting on TRI NORTHWEST.
3.3. Contact via email
If you email us (for example, to submit event or club updates), we receive whatever information you choose to send: your email address, name (if included), and the contents of your message. We use that information only to respond to you and to update the site where appropriate.
We don't run newsletters or marketing email lists right now. If that changes in the future, this page will be updated and you'll have the option not to participate.
3.4. Data sharing and selling
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with service providers who help us operate the site (for example, hosting providers or analytics vendors), but only to the extent needed to run and improve TRI NORTHWEST.
3.5. Retention
Logs and analytics data are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and improve the site, and then deleted or aggregated.
3.6. Contact about privacy
If you have questions about how TRI NORTHWEST handles data, or if you represent an organization listed on the site and want your information updated or removed, you can reach us at:
4. Changes to this page
This page may change as TRI NORTHWEST evolves. If we make meaningful changes to how we handle data or to the terms of use, we'll update this page and adjust the "Last updated" date.
